The availability of affordable senior health insurance |

| America has a large elderly population currently and with the baby boomer generation beginning to reach retirement age, the availability of affordable senior health insurance is going to become an even more important issue than it already is. Anyone who watches the pathetic efforts, or I should say lack of effort, by the U.S. Congress to deal with the looming crisis of affordable senior health insurance has to be very concerned. The Medicare program is due to run out of money in one to two years with Social Security to follow within 17 to 19 years. Many seniors who do not have low cost senior health insurance provided by a former employer have nothing but Medicare to fall back on unless they can purchase affordable senior health insurance to supplement Medicare. And if Medicare goes broke as predicted, this ever growing segment of America's population will have to find low cost senior health insurance or do without any health insurance. This is a national disgrace in my view and it appears our elected representatives in the U.S. Congress are turning a blind eye to the problem. |
